Manager checklists
Use these as first-stage prompts. They are not a substitute for tailored advice, but they help managers slow down and collect the right information before acting.
Disciplinary preparation
- What happened, and when?
- What evidence exists?
- What policy or standard applies?
- Has the employee had a fair chance to respond?
- What outcome range may be reasonable?
Grievance first review
- What is the complaint?
- Who is involved?
- What outcome is requested?
- Is any immediate action needed?
- Who should investigate?
Absence meeting
- What is the absence pattern?
- What support has been offered?
- Is medical advice needed?
- Are adjustments relevant?
- What follow-up is documented?
If the matter is sensitive, urgent or contested, ask for support before issuing letters or holding formal meetings.
